things that arise together
require no other cause
in a place called Nature's What's Sacred
they transcend all use of force
.
they need no God to tell them
just what to do and say
they proceed in no fixed order
but freely find their way
the thing that unites them
is not fear of sin or error
but an inner love of doing right
in every shared endeavor
rain does not strike the earth
but to it a hand lends
the earth knows that its friend the rain
Nature's balance won't upend
but will nourish every earthly thing
and things' living bon sustain
i do not force my neighbor
to obey a way that's mine
but help him see our labor
as part of Nature's way divine
in a place called Nature's What's Sacred
my neighbor and I, like the rain and earth
a common purpose find
in a place called Nature's What's Sacred
